Support Our Vision

The Advocates for Indigenous California Language Survival exists as an organization because we understand the importance of speaking Indigenous Languages. We help communities create new speakers because our language is sovereignty; our language is culture; our language is resistance; our language is community; and our language is love.

Our purpose is to foster the restoration and revival of indigenous California languages so that they may be retained as a permanent part of the living cultures of native California. The primary objectives and purposes of the corporation shall be to implement and support the revitalization of indigenous California languages and to assist California Indians in language renewal and maintenance through:

  1. Advocacy, education, and training of speakers and learners for language transmission
  2. The identification and use of existing indigenous language resource materials
  3. The analysis and implementation of pertinent linguistic information and tools
  4. The creation of learning program models and language restoration materials
  5. The establishment and maintenance of master and apprentice language teams
  6. The use of modern technology for language documentation and restoration

California's rich cultural heritage is deeply rooted in its Indigenous languages. These languages are more than just words; they are the heart and soul of our communities. With your help, we can ensure that these vital languages continue to thrive for generations to come.
